3. Premium Materials & Aesthetic Finish
Atlas offers multiple headrest fabric types to complement the different Aeron chair editions, each designed to seamlessly match the chair. To ensure you select the correct headrest, it’s important to identify which version of the Aeron chair you own. The Classic Aeron (pre-2016) features a thicker, vertical-striped mesh with a more defined ribbed texture. In contrast, the Remastered Aeron has a thinner, tri-color weave with a more uniform and refined look. Both swatches are viewable below, along with a side-by-side mesh photo to help you visually confirm your chair model:
The Classic Aeron mesh is known for its tightly woven, structured appearance and firmer feel. The material features a pronounced vertical ribbing pattern, which you can see clearly in the image below. This textured design offers supportive tension and long-term durability while maintaining breathability.
- Heavier and denser than the Remastered version
- Offers a slightly firmer sit and stronger tactile texture
- Matches the legacy aesthetic of original Aeron chairs
This fabric pairs seamlessly with the Classic Aeron chair, both in function and appearance.
Classic Carbon (3D01)
A modernized version of the Classic, the Remastered mesh has a finer weave and a distinctive tri-color fade that appears lighter and more polished. It offers a sleeker look while maintaining airflow and ergonomic responsiveness.
Remastered Carbon (23102)
Note: There are also less common or discontinued mesh types and frame colors across both Aeron versions. If you’re unsure, feel free to reach out to us with photos of your chair and we’ll be happy to help you identify it. Contact Us >
4. Improved Posture and Long-Term Comfort
Evenly distributes weight across the head and neck to reduce pressure points. With its customizable fit, the headrest encourages healthy alignment, helping prevent neck and back discomfort during prolonged sitting.
5. Seamless Aesthetic Integration
Designed to match the Remastered Aeron’s style and finish, the headrest looks like a natural part of the chair—perfect for maintaining a polished, professional workspace.

Fits & Sizes Supported
The Aeron headrest is built to fit all Herman Miller Aeron chairs, including compatibility with all Aeron chair sizes — A, B, and C.
Understanding your chair size is important for ensuring the headrest provides proper ergonomic support. The height of the chair back, combined with your seated height, affects how well the headrest aligns with the base of your skull (Atlas vertebra).
Need help identifying your Aeron chair size?
Run your fingers along the top of the chair back, under the plastic shell — you should feel raised dots:
- 1 dot = Size A
- 2 dots = Size B
- 3 dots = Size C
These dots help confirm your chair size as well as assist with centering headrest placement during installation.
If you don’t have an Aeron chair yet, refer to the sizing chart below to determine which size best fits your height and build:

Optional Accessory: Riser Blocks for Added Height
If you’re looking for additional height and customization, Riser Blocks are a great add-on. Each block increases the height of your headrest by approximately 1 to 1.5 inches, allowing for a more tailored fit—especially for taller users. For best stability, we recommend stacking no more than two blocks. If you're interested in adding Riser Blocks to your setup,
