The Embody headrest comes with two main parts and a hardware pack: the arm stalk and the cushion. The hardware pack includes two mounting screws, a 3/16" Allen key, and a protective film strip. The film strip is designed to protect the spine of your chair during installation—make sure to place it on the chair before attaching the headrest for extra protection.
Embody Installation Instructions
Follow these detailed steps to install your Atlas Headrest securely and properly onto your Embody chair:
1. Gather Your Tools
- Locate the 3/16" Allen wrench from the hardware bag.
- Important: Avoid using a metric Allen wrench, as it may damage the screws.
2. Prepare the Mount
- Remove the blue protective tape from the chair mount area.
- Loosen the screws on the mount to split it into two pieces.
- Tip: Keep the screws in the smaller part of the mount. The long screw goes on top, the short screw goes on the bottom.
3. Position the Mount
- Place the main arm (larger part) on the back of the chair.
- Align the smaller part of the mount to fit with the main arm.
- Press the two pieces together firmly.
4. Tighten the Screws
- Start by lightly tightening the bottom screw.
- Adjust and align the mount, ensuring the screws are properly lined up.
- Caution: To avoid cross-threading, make sure the screws are aligned. Ask another person for assistance if needed.
5. Attach the Cushion to the Arm
- Locate the two screws in the hardware bag.
- Position the cushion onto the arm mechanism, aligning the holes.
- Insert both screws and tighten them firmly with the Allen wrench.
6. Adjust Vertical Tension (Optional)
- The vertical tension is factory-set, but to increase it, turn the screw inside the arm clockwise.
- To reduce tension, turn the screw counterclockwise.
7. Adjust Horizontal Tension (Optional)
- The horizontal tension is also preset. Turn the knob at the bottom of the arm clockwise to increase tension, and counterclockwise to reduce it.
- Use the Allen wrench in the center of the knob for added leverage if needed.
8. Test and Final Check
- Move the headrest through its full range of motion to test secure attachment.
- Ensure all screws are tightened, and the headrest is properly adjusted for comfort.
- Retain the Allen wrench for future adjustments or maintenance.
With these steps, your Embody headrest should now be securely installed and ready for use!
